My name is Vincent Bolt, and I use he/him pronouns. I was born and raised in Sudbury, and I am a proud resident of Ward 4. I was thrilled to find a house in my price range as a first time home owner four years ago in a neighbourhood I love living in. I grew up close to my Nonna, Nonno, and many great aunts and uncles who came to Canada from Italy in the 50s and 60s. I learned to appreciate family and community. I completed high school at Sudbury Secondary, and my Bachelor of Art in English Literature, as well as my Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work at Laurentian University. I became an activist in the 8th grade when I attended my first protest against animal abuse in circuses, and in 2003 started being an activist for queer and trans rights. While still in high school I was already providing trans inclusion training to students at NOSM, and continue to provide workshops and training to communities all over Ontario for the past 20 years. In this time I have been on multiple boards of directors including the boards for Fierté Sudbury Pride, TG Innerselves, and Compass/Boussole. I am currently the Vice Chair for the Uptown Community Action Network, and continue to be active in my neighbourhood. I am a social worker psychotherapist in private practice, and I have been working in social services since 2010. As a social worker psychotherapist I have been trained to listen to what people have to say, empathise, and collaboratively work towards solutions. I see these skills as transferable for city councilors. I want to listen to what residents in my ward have to say with empathy, and work collaboratively for solutions.
